Completing a Course and Receiving CE Credit
How do I access course materials?
To access purchased courses:
- Log onto the portal by clicking 'Login' in the top menu.
- Click ‘My Account’ then ‘My Courses'.
- Your purchased courses will be listed. Click 'View Files/Launch Training' to launch the course.
How do I navigate the online classroom?
- Courses typically consist of audiovisual presentations, resources and tests. Videos and practice activities contain audio - make sure to turn on your speakers or use headphones. For the best quality, we recommend closing other programs on your computer or device.
- Courses are divided into ‘Course Segments’ and are listed in the order they should be completed; you will not be able to advance to the next segment until you have completed the current segment you are working on.
- To launch a course segment, click the link in the 'Status' column; course segments will open in a new window.
- Once you have completed a course segment, close the window for that segment. Keep the original browser window with the classroom homepage open.
- The 'Status' column on the classroom homepage will update automatically. You will then be able to proceed to the next Course Segment.
- In 'Practice' activities, you will complete a series of questions or exercises; these activities are not graded but will reinforce the information presented in the audiovisual presentations. At the end of each practice activity, click 'Exit' to close the window and proceed to the next segment.
- Unless otherwise noted, to successfully complete a test, you need to receive a score of 70% or higher. The test may be taken up to three (3) times.
- Once you have successfully completed the test, you will be able to access the course segment Activity Evaluation. To receive CE credit, you must complete the Activity Evaluation.
- View the Introduction video within your course for additional instructions.
I completed my course, what do I need to do to receive continuing education (CE) credit?
To receive CE credit, you must complete the Activity Evaluation. You will be required to enter your NABP number (for pharmacists) or license information (for physicians) and date of birth. The format for your date of birth is MonthMonthDayDay (MMDD). For example: if your date of birth is February 7, you would enter 0207.
I do not have an NABP ID, what do I need to do to receive CE Credit (for pharmacists)?
To receive ACPE credits for your completed activity, you must provide your NABP ID. Please visit www.nabp.net to learn more about the CPE Monitor and to register for your NABP Profile ID Number.
How do I access my ACPE Statements of Credit?
Your statements of credit will be uploaded directly to CPE Monitor. Log into your NABP account to view your statements; they will not be mailed to you. Statements of credit will be available within 60 days of completion of the activity evaluation.
How do I access my ACCME Certificate?
Completion Certificates will be uploaded directly to CME Passport.
- Physicians can create a personalized account on CME Passport. The ACCME will match them to a unique learner record in PARS.
- When a physician logs in to their CME Passport account, they will see CME credit data that has been reported on their behalf.
- Physicians can create a transcript of the CME and MOC credit reported and email that to their licensing board, employer, credentialing body, or any other regulatory authority they choose.
- Physicians do not need to report CME or MOC credits to medical or certifying boards that collaborate with the ACCME. Those boards will have access to the information. Visit our State Medical Boards Collaboration webpage and CME for MOC webpage for more information.
Will I receive a Certificate of Achievement?
If a certificate of achievement is available for your course or series, it will be located at the bottom of the classroom homepage. Access your certificate of achievement by logging into the online classroom. After completing the final course segment, click the link. If a link is not available, check to make sure you have completed all course segments. Please note, certificates of achievement are NOT statements of credit and may not be used as proof of ACPE or ACCME credits. The official record of credit may be located in the learner’s e-profile in CPE Monitor or ACCME Passport.
Are there instructors with whom I can interact?
The instructor for each course is posted within the classroom. You may contact the instructor by emailing CEHelp@rx.umaryland.edu.
Can I take more than one course at a time?
Yes, you are able to register and participate in as many courses as you like.
How long do I have to complete my coursework?
Unless otherwise noted, learners have 90 days from their initial course registration date to complete the course. Any exceptions will be noted in the course materials. CE Credit is not available after the ‘expiration date’.
